Farmer-Led Innovations in Cover Cropping
Sustainable Chesapeake is partnering with farmers and agribusinesses throughout Virginia to demonstrative innovative approaches to getting more cover crops on the ground.
From combine-mounted cover crop seeders to precision planters and aerial seeding with drones, our project partners are demonstrating practical approaches to expanding cover crop acreage while also saving time, money, and tractor passes.
James and Aaron Black with N.S. Farms developed a combine-mounted cover crop seeder that allows them to seed cover crops at harvest.
